New Life Christian Fellowship's objective in its missions giving is to tithe the amount of the prior year's revenues.  Our missions policy summarizes the principles upon which we make the distribution as follows:

  • We will seek to establish a balanced portfolio of giving to include works at home and overseas, local and national programs, and evangelism and relief of hardship.
  • We will seek organizations and initiatives that are in sympathy with our basis of faith and our desire to see God glorified and the Gospel preached even if direct evangelism is not part of their operation.
  • As far as it is possible, we will focus on a small number of causes so as to maximize the impact of our giving.
  • We will also seek out causes where we can have personal contact, build relationships, and have regular participation in our church life.

The Organizations & Missionaries

  • Calvary Street/Isaiah 58 Ministries: The Wong Family.  A ministry reaching out to the homeless and hungry in the most needy part of San Francisco with the Gospel and food.  The late Edmond Wong preached at NLCF on occasion and the Mudge and Mayfield families participate in their outreach initiatives.
  • Pioneers: A ministry called to church planting.
  • Tim and Lulu Ottaviani - World Missions: This couple are San Francisco natives and have two delightful adopted Vietnamese children.  They serve in Vietnam where they minister in a church in constant threat of being closed down by police.  They send regular prayer information by email and return often when they love to come and share (and are personal friends of Pastor Jonathan).
  • The Francis Family - YWAM: This mission was founded in 1960 to see "waves of young people" sharing the Gospel all over the world.  There are now about 1700 staff in 38 locations.  Rob and Linda are involved in training national missionaries particularly for work in Asia.  Currently they are based in Orlando, Florida for a season coordinating communications for the School of Missions and to hope to return to Asia in due time.
  • The Petro FamilyNew Tribes Missions: The Petros are church planting in a people group in the Philippines who are completely unreached with the Gospel.  They have already completed one such project in a nearby community and they began this new project in July 2005.
  • The Barron FamilyFor Jesus: Andrew and Laura are a dynamic and innovative couple who direct the work of Jews For Jesus in Canada.  They have seen the work in Canada expand, opening a new office in Montreal.  They were the pioneers of the work in South Africa also where they retain ties.  Andrew is in the Bay Area regularly and is happy to come and share when he is here.
  • Steve and Cathy HornerRancho de Sus Ninos Orphanage: A number of the church family have participated in missions trips to this ministry.  Often several from TYG attend these trips.
  • Voice of the Martyrs: Arising from the work of Richard Wurmbrand, this interdenominational organization has a vision for aiding Christians around the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ, fulfilling the Great Commission, and educating the world about the ongoing persecution of Christians.
  • Pacifica Resource Center: An ongoing outreach to the most need in our city.
  • Zambia International Bible: Providing an educational dimension to our overseas missionary support. They train pastors not only to teach the scripture but also support themselves off the land.  Chad and Amber currently make this college their home where they serve in many different ways.
